The 2021–22 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 120th season of top-tier Italian football, the 90th in a round-robin tournament, and the 12th since its organization under an own league committee, the Lega Serie A.[2] AC Milan won the title after defeating Sassuolo 3–0 at the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore on 22 May 2022, the final matchday of the season.[3] AC Milan's title marked their 19th league title in their history and their first since 2011. Inter Milan, the defending champions, finished in second place, two points behind AC Milan.
