Whilst being interviewed for a popular Sarajevan radio talk show, Hilmo, a mild-mannered elderly mailman, recounts the events he, inadvertently through letters, beared witness to during the early years of his employment in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including stories of bitter rivalries turned friendships, secret romances and struggling business owners in search of a better future.
