Initially dismissed as riding the crest of the "Alt-Country" wave that flooded pop music in the late 1990s, the Old 97's have proved their unique talent by remaining prolific and popular after several years. The Dallas-born quartet took a brief hiatus after their fifth album, SATELLITE RIDES, but returned with a bang with 2004s DRAG IT UP, which garnered kudos from fans and critics alike.
